Re: Role Playing School
Guys, chillax. Personally, I agree with Nisa. I believe the whole point of this school was to HELP people, it is not a battle arena. We ALL have our differences in the way we Role Play, and we should use our different styles to make our Role Playing experience more enjoyable.
I don't think the amount of posts should determine how good an RP is, but the content of the posts. If you get one or two posts a day, said RP could still be successful depending on how much is put into the posts. I usually try to get three or four paragraphs in one post, and I've been RPing for over two years.
If you want 'Advanced Role Playing' try looking up people who can do three or more paragraphs in one post, easily. And actually, that isn't really that hard. The more detail and such, that people add in the story, the easier it is to make longer posts. I think everyone should aim for longer and more detailed posts.
I will agree with Mike that most people now can't grasp hardcore role playing. But I doubt I can either. In most peoples eyes, Advanced/hardcore RPing is just full of detail and things that I crave. (Yeah, I'm a detail freak.)
Sorry if I'm going off what this whole argument was about, but I'm almost done.
The last thing I have to say is for anyone who desires to learn the art of role playing (You know, the whole point of this thread).
Find yourself a mentor (preferably a veteran Role Player on this site). Don't just come in and assume you know everything (Like I did a few years ago). You probably don't. Many sites are different. If you RP on one site, it may be a whole different experience on another. Sometimes it's the same, but sometimes it isn't.
If anyone would like, they could message me and I could just do a private one on one RP to test your abilities and what not.I like to think of my self as an advanced role player, but I'm sure there are many who are better than I. Just because I role played with the older guys, the guys who started RPs on this site, does not mean I am as epic as them (But if I am as good, do tell me. It might boost my self esteem/ego XD).
And if anyone feels like taking me up on this offer, my inbox is open to you.
See y'all!

Re: Role Playing School
First, what you posted isn't how to start RPing in an advanced way, it's simply a couple of tips.
I mostly agree with Kat.... But, this site isn't dedicated to RPing, and the RPing community here is rather small. If you want to get into the art of role playing, like Kat mentioned, this ISN'T a site for you. And on here, I know maybe... one or two people who actually do advanced RPing...
In this small RPing community, which is falling apart, there are all sorts of RPing styles, but mostly, people here RP for fun. The so called veteran Role Players aren't anything special ether. I actually see some of them use chat speak, massive amount of one liners, so please, they aren't almighty...* But who cares? Like I said, this isn't a serious Role Playing community.
If you ask me, all you need to know is the basic rules of RPing, and maybe throw in a couple of adjectives and thoughts so it won't be a sore one liner.

Just because someone can put out three or four paragraphs doesn't mean it's advanced.* If the content of the paragraphs is a bunch of bull the length really doesn't matter.* I've put out three four paragraph posts and even longer.* I then looked back on them and some were crap so I went back and fixed them making them sorter, but better.*
I normally don't do my best rping on this site since I'm not judged by high standards.* However on the mod rp I'm on I have to do at least of five sentence post, plus the content needs to be quality.* If you truly want to advance you rping skill find a mod controlled rp.*
The last thing I wanted to say is if the person you're rping with is substandard that also makes it much harder to throw out two, three, or four paragraphed posts.**
Ps: Kat if you want a detailed rp, you defiantly should* join the rp site I referred you to* a while ago.* The admin on that site can be crazy strict, but he's one of the best rper's I've ever seen.**
