thing is they don't know how many people will buy the movie cause if they spend more money making all the copies of the movie then the amount of money they get from people buying the movie then that means they lost money which means things will get cut back which will suck for everyone
While there is the Japanese UMD (which won't play on US PSP), I don't think they will bring it over. UMD is dead as a movie format. They're bargain bin items going at under $10 and Wal-Mart already eliminated any shelf space for it. They're now shoved under the PSP section. I haven't seen any traditional cartoons in HD so I'm not sure how Full HD will work for Naruto.
It's just like PS3. Games are region-free, but movies are still region-locked. I have a Japanese PSP, but I wouldn't spend money on UMD since it's a limited format. The only UMD that I ever wanted to get was Clerks on UMD because it's such a great movie. I could always just rip the DVD instead.
