I mentioned this on the topic concerning Sai's appearance in the game (which there isn't), but the next game, NUN5, will bring back support characters. And this time, depending on who you pick, the primary character and support character can perform attacks together. For example, I saw a Youtube video of NUN5 in Japan with 4-Tailed Naruto vs. TS Sasuke. Sasuke had normal Naruto as his support, and because of their connection in the series, he unleashed an attack where Naruto and Sasuke performed Rasengan and Chidori on 4-Tailed Naruto together.
