PS3 Backwards Compatability

I HAVE one that can play PS2 games, but WHY in the HECK would Sony EVER get the idea that stopping making PS2 compatable PS3s was a GOOD idea?!!!!!!!!! What if mine BREAKS?!!!! (Not that I treat mine badly..... well, I COULD dust it a little more often.... but still!)

It's for cost reasons. *Taking the backwards compatibility out makes it cheaper, which allowed them to drop the price from $600 to what it is now.

What is it now? And I bet people wouldn't GIVE A CRAP to paying a little extra to ACTUALLY GET TO PLAY their PS2 games on the PS3.

I have the 80gb that came with mgs4 but they dont update the info on bc on that website because it doesnt list uzumaki chronicles 2 but it works on my 80gb so I want to make sure un4 works on my ps3 before buying it since I sold my ps2.

I still play PS2 and some PS1 games. In anticipation for the release of NUNS, I bought a 20gig PS3, so I'd have the backwards compatibility. Now I'm glad I did, knowing UN 4 is going to be*on PS2. Even though I still have my PS2 as well.

It suckes that I have a 40 gig ps3 but I still have*my ps2 and plus they are cheap now like TigerC10 said ....So it is tax time for those who work so you could purchase the ps2 at a very low price.

Your serious? I knew there were rumors that the MGS4 PS3 was Backwords compatilbe.* Knew I should've gotten it when I had the chance.
