I know. I just got a PS3 and*unfortunately*its not*backwards*compatible. Sony really should make more of the older PS3s since PS2 are still one of the best selling consoles. People would buy the PS3 if it was backwards compatible.
But the good news is that the Playstation 2 has come down in price to about $60 (fat PS2) or $70 (slim PS2), so if you desperately want to play this game (as well as the excellent predecessors Ultimate Ninjas 1-3) you can get a PS2.
$60-$70? Whoa! That's cheaper than I expected. Thanks for the information! *Gets begging face ready* Mom! Dad!
I have one of the models of the ps3 that are backwards compatiable but everytime I play Naruto ultimate ninja 4 shippuden it freezes up or the picture gets distorted. My friend also has the same problem his ps3 is also backwards compatiable is our resolutions on our tvs to high or is it another problem? If you or anyone can help with this problem it will be greatly appreciated.

If you both have the 80GB you will have to wait for an update, same thing happened to me with Ultimate Ninja 4 but you will have to try after each update that the PS3 gets and it might take months for it to work properly.
