I am having a serious freeze issue with my game of Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 disc. I got a new copy on Christmas and decided to play it. To my dismay, it froze before I could get beyond the Kakashi fight, I thought this was a one time thing, and would not happen again, so I turned my xbox off and started the game again. I thought the game would not freeze again, was I right? No I was not right, the game begins to freeze more frequently each and every time, sometimes it freezes on the "Press start" screen, sometimes it freezes at the "Menu" screen. Sometimes it freezes during the Kakashi fight. I tried installing it to my hard drive, it only sped up the freeze occurrences, I tried clearing the cache it did not do a thing. So, I bought another disc yesterday. Unfortunately nothing changed, the same problem happened, it is driving me bonkers, I seriously want to kill my own disc and I am tired of going to Gamestop to buy new copies
UPDATE:
Tried the demo to see what would happen. The exact same thing happens. Freezes during the Kakashi fight.
Second, I'm sorry to inform you but this website is slated for closure on January 3rd.
Third, please don't reply to yourself just because you don't get an instant response about it. *Mostly because this website is closing down in a couple of days and few people are visiting this place anymore, but even more so this is not a support forum for the game but rather a community forum. *Besides all of that, it's also considered rude netiquette to reply to yourself mere minutes after you made the initial post.
Fourth, Namco/Bandai Games can't support problems with your XBox 360. *If the game disk is unscratched then it's not a problem with the game since thousands of people are not experiencing the same issue.
Because I'm a nice guy, I'll give you some tips. *What may be happening is that your XBox 360 is starting to experience the infamous "Red Ring Of Death" error, but only because the game is intense enough on the processor and graphics processor to provoke the error. *This is likely because the game was designed for the PS3's superior cell processor and had to be dumbed down enough for the crummy 360 processor set - so it's probably utilizing everything the 360 has (maxing out the 360) while your other games don't since they were originally designed/intended for the XBox 360. *The issue usually comes from a random internal component overheating. *Make sure your XBox is sitting flat (not standing vertically) because Microsoft knows about an issue with the vertical position that causes RROD. *Also make sure the XBox has plenty of space around it, so that it can take in cool air to keep it cooler inside the XBox - putting the XBox in a cramped space traps the hot air that it spits out and so it sucks the hot air back in and eventually causes RROD errors over prolonged mistreatment. *It's my opinion that within 6 months to a year - all games that you put into your XBox 360 will have this issue, not just this one. *Again, you need to contact Microsoft because this game functions perfectly on stable XBox 360s.
Again, they can't really help with XBox 360s that are in the process of breaking. *You should probably contact Microsoft, especially if your XBox is still under warranty. *If not, it may be time to buy a new XBox or go all out and get the PS3 - PS3 is better anyway. *I don't know anyone except myself that has owned only 1 xbox 360 - they've either had problems under warranty and had to get it replaced by Microsoft or bought new ones because the warranty expired and they had problems that Microsoft wouldn't fix. *However, everyone that I know that has owned a PS3 has never experienced any hardware problems. *I did read 1 story on the net about a guy that owned the PS3 for 2 months and had issues because of massive quantities of dust - turns out he was shoving dust into the system to force it to break in an attempt to get an upgrade from 20GB to 60GB for free. *I once heard a myth about a Yellow Light Of Death - but I don't know anyone that has encountered one.
EDIT:
I've merged your posts into one. *Also, we don't allow cussing or profanity on the official NBGI websites - so if you visit any other official community for this game please don't do that anymore. *Thanks.*
