Kakashi chunin at age 6?

the other day i was bored so i watched a few old episodes and in the one way kakashi nominates his whole team for the chunin exams and iruka starts aruing kakashi says "i became a chunin six years younger than naruto is now" and naruto is 12 so is that right and kakashi did become a chunin at a ridiculous young age or have i missed something?

you haven't miss anything, Kakashi become chunnin at 6 and jounin at 11(If I'm not Mistaking), but Itachi become ANBU Leader at 13
