What you suffer from is a personal bias.* You refuse to let something be said that you disagree with since you just happen to own said product in question.* I own a Dreamcast, I have a library of fighters so don't tell me what it has, I have what it has.* Street Fighter 3 Third Strike (the greatest fighting game so far), Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves, King of Fighters 99 Dream Match.* I also burned several other fighters including CVS2, KOF 2001 and 2002, along with Marvel vs Capcom 2 (which really isn't what I would call a good fighter) etc.* Even with all that, I admit the system was a disaster.* This is because it failed on the open market.* Xbox 360 has a wide array of games, but targetted at a niche group in the videogame market, along with the fact that repair costs and replacements have put the company 2.5 BILIION in the hole.* That to me is a failure... We aren't dealing with millions, we are dealing in BILLIONS.* The Elite is a joke, not even having wireless internet connectivity.* Both GamePro and Electronic Gaming Monthly tore that system apart as a waste of money.* Also, the cost of producing games for that system and Sony's PS3 is rougly 3 times the amount it is for the Wii, that is why EA and Ubisoft are competing for the top third party spot.* That is why the system is picking up steam, and that is why many have turned to it to pick themselves up out of the various holes they are in.* Like I said, Tecmo is releasing stuff for other systems because they aren't have the success they hoped for with the 360.* Look it up, take a look at the new list of games being released by Tecmo.* Tell me that I am wrong, tell me I have twisted the facts when the proof is right there.* Square-Enix hasn't even decided where the next Kingdom Hearts game will go because they don't like how the PS3 is doing, and because of that have been playing with the idea of haing Final Fantasy on the 360 aswell.* Then again, there is also talk about a lower-rez version for the Wii.* Have you been reading the press releases?* Put your bias aside and face the facts.* Then after you do, come back and let's talk.
P.S.
EB Games had to give up their protection plan because of the Xbox 360.* Now they only replace with refurbed systems.* Tell me again how great that paper weight is when it eats games, overheats, freezes and finally gives out... I'm just pointing out that the PSP has a stronger line-up of RPGs than the DS. Does it even matter if not all of those games have been released here? You're quick to mention Revenant Wings and FFIV, despite the fact that neither of those have been released over here as well. The games that I list have already been translated or will be translated. And yes, Pokemon is selling extremely well, like it always has been. The reason we see SE bringing the remakes of the first two FF games to the PSP is because it's the 20th Anniversary of Final Fantasy.

I'm sorry, you made it sound as if grannies can't take T-rated games.

I wouldn't know about it since I've never had problems with any of my systems. Nintendo does have a good service and I'll count myself lucky that I never had to contact them or any other company about such problems.

Oh no. I frequently bash GameCube for its long droughts, DS for its weak capabilities and PS3 for its bulk size/slim library because I own them. I just disagree with you that the PSP is inferior to the DS. There's no denying that there are a difference in terms of sales between the systems, but I don't believe that a system is a failure unless if it achieves phenomal sales because a system with extensive features and a great library of titles is certainly worth owning.

As I said a few times before, people shouldn't buy systems from EB, especially not for their crappy warranty. There are other stores that offer much better warranties at more reasonable prices. Plus, Microsoft had to extend their warranty to a year.
I really like how you twisted my words.* Like I said, if you checked out that link I sent you, you would have see Microsoft Japan is taking a beating.* They have changed the head of this division 2 to 3 times since launch, and things haven't gone anywhere.* I don't need to work at EB Games to tell you to read CNN Money, Yahoo Business and various other sites posting on the issue.* The biggest story would be this one...
http://ce.seekingalpha.com/article/32642 "When Will Microsoft Own Up to the Xbox 360 Bomb?"
I love when critics go after this review by saying "Xbox 360 isn't a disaster, is it still good, I like it."* Well it is good to know they like it, do you think they will pay the 2.5 billion the Microsoft Enetertainment division has lost since this system was launched?*
Next, Final Fantasy I and II are being brought to the PSP to fill a void, not simply because Square-Enix wants to celebrate.* Economics my dear Wattson, the only reason they would want to put these games here is because they are trying to make more money off one which has been on the PSX and GBA in the last few years.* Without a FF game on the PSP, they are hoping to draw nostalgic players back to these "whores" of titles.* Next, Revenant Wings has just been released in Japan and is due here in the fourth quarter, so no, I don't think your argument holds water when several of the games you mentions will not be making their way stateside.* FFIV for the DS has just been announced in Japan, so it is hard to see a game that hasn't been released there yet, be released here.* My point in mentioning that title was that the next big project was Nintendo bound.
Next let's discuss a few systems.* Firstly, Gamecube was a real hit and miss, seeing that it had an amazing launch and then slowed down fast.* Still, some of the best selling games, like Smash Bros Melee and the Mario Party series, kep that system going.* Next, the DS, while graphically weaker than the PSP, is a great package.* A relatively inexpensive price, along with wirelss capabilties for online play and Wii interaction.* Graphics don't mean much when you could simply compress* MPEGs onto a cartrige to get those beautiful cinemas (seen the opening for FFIII yet?).* PS3, while bulky, suffers from poor planning and trying to force the market with the Blu-Ray feature.* While it is having some success in Japan, the system on a whole is failing in North America, not to mention a hidious launch world wide.* Thing is, take the machine as it is, and you have something that is far more durable than a 360 with much more to offer.* Connectivity with the PSP is attractive and one of the reasons I still want both systems...
Problem is poor planning and price tags, and THIS is what your bias refuses to except.* The PSP could be made out of gold and stimulate the sexual centers of the brain for all I care, but the system costs too much for a handheld.* Same problem Nokia had with the N-Gage, and it is why the system is suffering now.* For fifty dollars more, you can own a Wii (if you can find one) and we have all seen what this revelation has lead to.* Simply put, you could have the Naruto series finale where we learn who his father is a blah blah blah on the system years before anyone else, and no one would want to shell out the cash for it still. * It is a great piece of hardware, very well designed, has alot to offer the players, but it is way too damn expensive for a system you are supposed to play on the go, that is why I think it is terrible.* As an Economist (and I have the degree to back that one up) I see a money pit, a poorly thoughtout business choice, and that is why I criticize it.* Here is a link for that one...
If you want some really funny granny gamer stories, I have lots.* Including the time I spent one hour with two old ladies trying to pick out Gamecube games that weren't too exciting or too challenging for them to play (surprisingly that was alot, even some E rated games were too difficult).* Other than that, with their husbands most likely 6 feet under, alot of the mature woman have turned to video games, and the DS just happens to be a great pick because it is so user friendly.
...The PSP could be made out of gold and stimulate the sexual centers of the brain for all I care, but the system costs too much for a handheld.
Okay, that's too far man. I can buy a PSP for $169 new. If I can get a solid gold PSP that does everything a PSP can do, and also get me to climax, I'll have my money out faster than you can say Hospidi!

A core system at that price, without the memory stick.* The point is the PSP is far too expensive for this market, and that is why I say such things.* Besides, I would rather have another go in the sack with my ex than get off with a piece of machinary.* At least it will be warm, unfeeling, hollow and kinky rather than a cold, unfeeling, hollow and bland performance without the company of another.* And while she wasn't the brightest bulb, or the nicest person, she at least had a body... Not like that Wii commerical PS3 Hog... http://youtube.com/watch?v=3S8bngWtLDY
P.S.* If you seen the comercial, think of the Wii girl but asian... And wearing kinky outfits... That was my ex.* Definately a girl you could have fun with, but not a girl to have for a long lasting relationship.* My rule once again reers its ugly head, write this one down ok guys?
If an attractive girl is single, there is a serious reason for it... REMEMBER THIS, and you can save yourself the trouble I went through for a year and a half.*
Like I said, if you checked out that link I sent you, you would have see Microsoft Japan is taking a beating.
You make it sound as if that's news. Everybody knows that Microsoft isn't doing well in Japan. The Xbox didn't do well in Japan either, but it still managed to gain a foothold on the video game market. North American is the biggest video game market, followed by Europe. As long as Microsoft does well over here, it can still manage, especially considering how much money they have commited to the Xbox. The important thing is that 360 has currently the best library out of the three new home consoles with a great online service.

If you're going to use economics as the only reason, then it's an indication that there certainly is a market big enough to draw these FF games to the PSP. The PSP fan base is big enough to justify the release of FF 20th Anniversary, along with other titles like FF & DQ in Itadaki Street Portable, FF Tactics, Crisis Core FFVII and DISSIDIA FF. The market for PSP certainly isn't as bad as you initially make it out to be.

My argument holds as much as your's does because you also mentioned FFIV, despite the lack of any announcement indicating the remake will be making its way over. The only games that I listed that weren't already translated or scheduled for translation was Star Ocean The First Departure, Star Ocean The Second Evolution and Wild Arms XF. Considering how successful Star Ocean and Wild Arms is over here, they probably do have the same chance of making their way over here as FFIV. My point is that PSP has a bigger library of RPGs than the DS even if it does have DQ and FF.

We've already come to a point where FMV doesn't matter anymore. It's in-game graphics that we see for the vast majority of the game. We're no longer in the 90's when FMV is still wowing us.

As mentioned by DisturbedPuppy, the PSP is $169 which is about $40 more than the DS Lite. You probably already know this since you work at EB, but if you think $40 is that unreasonable then we simply disagree in that aspect. *shrug* Personally, I think it's a fair deal for all the extra features. While it's not made of solid gold, the PSP will play porno and allow you to visit adult websites if you wish (without having to buy the browser like the DS). The system is certainly priced within the range of other portable media players.

BTW, why do you keep posting consecutive messages with your PS instead of simply editing your initial post? I noticed that you have accused other people for spamming their post count. o_O;
