Lol it's not really hard to master a character in Storm.
I have to disagree... the controls may be easy to master since it's the same for everyone, but each characters individual style changes the way one plays, drastically. Mastery of a character, yes, very possible and likely... mastering every character, impossible. I'll tell you why...
Everyone has an affinity for a character type. And by affinity I mean, the reason why we fight with the certain characters we use. Some people like fast characters, some like strong, some like stylish, some like close range, some like long range, some may even like slow, some like a combination. For example, the odds that someone would be a master with Lee and a master with Kankuro is highly unlikely. Not saying it's impossible, but 9/10 if you're an MASTER with Lee, you like speed & close range. Other characters you'd more than likely use would be like Neji, Shikamaru, Naruto, Guy...
Furthermore, MASTERING a character imo means knowing that characters strengths, weaknesses, precise timing it takes to get a move off, and the ability to adjust your defense against all other characters in the game. WINNING OFTEN DOESN'T MAKE ONE A MASTER. A true master barely gets damaged, pulls off a variety of combos & jutsus, doesn't wait for time to run out, plays offensively just as well as defensively, and when it comes down to it, doesn't need the help of support characters. And of course this measurement is against the highest computer difficulty or an opponent of or near the same skill level.
To say it's not really hard to master a character in Storm suggests to me that you play with every character decently (which is cool), but are the master of none, which imo means if you faced off against someone who is actually a master of a character, you would lose... HORRIBLY lol
And its really not that hard to figure that stuff out lol. *There's a no support character option for online and vs too. *The battle system has some depth, but its not really the most complicated fighting game to grasp and the characters are still easy to master.
Additionally, just to put it out there, to say it's easy to master all the characters in the game, yet have a character that you play with better than others is contradictory. If the characters are easy to master, you should be equally good with them all; therefore not having a character that you fall back on to win or play better with.
Lol, but perhaps I'm taking you're meaning of the word "MASTER" to literal. Maybe you just meant, it's easy to play the game with any character becuz the controls are easy & the same for everyone.
