i got interested about 8 years ago ( i was 8) and the first thing i ever read was dragon ball i love that series!!! then i started picking up shonen jump and when my brother started watching naruto, i recognized it from the magazene. I think I just stumbled across the DB manga in my local library, i recognized the pictures from the saturday morning cartoon and i was almost in love . I had to have one of the librarians show me how to read the manga xD i couldn't figure it out and i have been reading ever since .

Back when I was in high school... (urg too long ago...) Dragon Ball Z was airing on YTV. Years before that they had aired the first 12 or 13 episodes of so of Dragon Ball so I was quite confused as to how the story got from Goku being a little kid going to train with Master Roshi to being a full grown adult with a child.

At the time the only way to find out was to read the manga from Viz and each graphic novel was about $20 a pop Canadian. Makes Today's average of $10 each seem like a bargain in comparison.

Anyhow I really like the mix of martial arts and comedy that Dragon ball had so I decided to try something similar and fell in love with Ranma 1/2 and from there went on to amass a very large collection over the years.

I have 2 large bookshelfs with 4 shelfs with 2 rows full. The first is all Viz Manga and has a fifth shelf on the bottom as well but only one row since I had to lie the books flat rather then upright.

The Second is manga from other companies Tokyo pop, Del Ray, Adv and so on. The fifth shelf on the bottom is where I keep my shonen jump for awhile before storing them away in boxes as well as my Hardcover Transformers collection since that's the only place I could fit the oversize European trades. It also has some american comics on it, at least until I can get a new box for them.

I also have a third smaller shelf beside my bed that I used to have at collage while I was in recadence. It only has two shelves but is pretty much stuffed full with only a time amount of room left. In edition my tv stand also has a small shelf stuffed with manga.

.... Maybe I've spent too much money on this over the years lol.

To tell the truth, I've only read 1 manga. It was some one-shot made by CLAMP that detailed a lot of mini-stories about different couples that fell in love. My girlfriend got me to read it.

As you can see from My Anime List, I don't really read manga - but I do love to watch anime.

However, if there was ever a manga I was interested to read it was Buso Renkin. I saw the anime and loved it, to the point that I actually DID want to read the manga. Haven't really gotten around to it, though.
