    Naruto Shuppuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm generations Information Update

    So this game didn't get off to such a great kick off. Most of the community pretty much saw it as a cash in or UNS2.5. Fortunately they were wrong. Cyber Connect 2 has definetly listened to their fans and it looks like they've corrected most of the problems of storm 2.

    Just some basic info
    This game spans from the beginning of the series to the start of the ninja war.

    WHAT'S NEW
    To start off, CC2 themselves have loisted 6 improvemnts they've made in Generations.

    Enhancement #1: Respawning location of substitution jutsu has became farther than previous Storm games. With this adjustment, you (as an attacker) will have some time to deal with the opponent’s return attack. This is a modest change and the time is really short, but high-level players could gain more options after the substitution is performed.

    Enhancement #2: Vulnerable moment after releasing Chakra Shuriken CC2 received a lot of negative feedbacks for chakra shuriken spamming”, so we made some tweaks here. CC2′s focus in is not to make shuriken useless, so you can still experience the shuriken battle feeling. In Generations, you will not be able to keep shooting Chakra Shuriken as fast as Storm 2.

    Enhancement #3: The wait time to activate Ultimate Team Jutsus now takes longer and can be cancelled out with attacks easily. In Storm 2, sometimes Team Ultimates seemed invincible, especially when used as a counter attack to the opponent’s attack. With this enhancement, you can now cancel the opponent’s Team Ultimate by attacking them quick enough.

    Enhancement #4: You can now cancel ongoing combos and jump In other words, you can cancel your ground combo and switch to an aerial combo. Also, you can jump and avoid the opponent’s counterattack when your combo is guarded.

    Enhancement#5: Players can now cancel ongoing combos and immediately start a ninja move! If your opponent performs a substitution and uses a jutsu to counterattack your combo, now you can perform a ninja move (and possibly get the opponent’s back!) With this, you can take advantage of the opponent.

    Enhancement #6: You can now press the substitution jutsu button slightly prior/after hit! Example: If the L2 button is pressed before or the moment your opponent’s attack hits, you will perform a substitution jutsu and dodge the attack, without taking any damage, at the cost of depleting a part of the substitution bar Example 2: If the L2 button is pressed after your opponent’s attack hits, you will perform a substitution jutsu and dodge the attack, but with the damage AND at the at the cost of depleting a part of the substitution bar. With this, you can perform substitution jutsus in unexpected timing, so that the players can enjoy more strategic gameplay!


    Next we have the introduction of something that players have been asking for generations(>.>), Some way to stop the constant spamming of the substitution jutsu. In the past games all you had to do to get out of a combo was just mash either the L2/R2 buttons. Now not so much.




    Those yellow bars are your substitution jutsu bar. Obviously, each portion represents how many times you can use the justu, similar to the mechanic in the Naruto gekitou Ninja taisen/Clash of Ninja games.Additionally there is a dedicated button for the Substitution technique and gaurding. Here's a post from Namco Bandai explaining further.

    "This new feature is an effort to raise the fighting system to brand new layers of strategy and to obviously limit the “Substitution spamming”. The new Substitution Bar is the yellow colored gauge visible below the Chakra gauge on the latest set of screenshot posted. First thing to know is that there is now distinctive buttons for guard and for substitution. The timing required to make a successful substitution has been made easier but each substitution removes one block out of a maximum of four available on the substitution bar. This bar slowly refills with time or when you take hits but it rapidly depletes if you rely on it too much. This implies the need to use both guard and substitution buttons more wisely than in previous titles from the series. Some items should allow the Substitution Gauge to refill faster but like any other combat items in Ultimate Ninja Storm series, it comes in limited quantities per match and takes one of your 4 precious equipment slot."

    This should definitely balance out the multiplayer side of the games and maybe re-introduce the ultimate ninja games in the hardcore tournament scene.

    Alright, if you've been reading the post this far you might have seen the word 'cancel' thrown around and yes, cancelling is an official skill in Generations. Sure in the past games you could shuriken cancels and air dash cancel but this is a more straight forward use of the word. If you've played Gekitou Ninja Taisen games, the mechanic works almost exactly the same here.

    Fan favorites like Zabuza and Haku are in as well as young kakashi and his gang. Also,the first and second are in.What was a little unexpected was that Nine Tail Chakra mode Naruto is in.


    All in all there will be over 62 playable characters this go around including all the kages and such. Not so sure on whether or not their body gaurds will be playable or just there for support .

    Modes
    Finally there will be some variety in the mode sin the storm games. A survival mode as well as an offline/online tournament mode have been confirmed.

    What to look forward to
    Jump Festa is in the upcoming week and it'll be playable there and they are gonna show off the opening to the games which is suppose to confirm even more characters.

    clashing

    what about ninja clashing like in naruto UNS with jutsu's or 2 ultimate specials like in naruto UNS that will actually make the game more compititive and better for us players so plz and this update to your new game naruto ultimate ninja storm generations.

    So I just realized that they are releasing Naruto Generations on the same day as Tales of Graces F.... gosh darn it Namco quit sabotaging yourself.

    If you only have money to get one at the release date like me please pick up Tales of Graces. It's a fantastic rpg that could use all the support it can get so that we continue getting Tales games in English in the future where as Naruto will sell alright regardless.

    Darn it my Hinata vs Young hinata dream match just went up in smoke.

    Smile PS3 Only

    Why couldnt this be a PS3 only game like the first one you all made that was great..In the first one you had clashes, boss fights, exploring to another level, walking on wall doing battles, mini quest in town to do and more..In Naruto Shippuden Ultimate ninja storm 2 it seems as if you all had to let go on some of the good stuff just because of Xbox 360 cant handle what PS3 can..If you don't make it a PS3 only, please put some more contents exclusively for the PS3 version and increase the graphics and more..If you can please bring in a 2 vs 2 battle or 3 vs 3 battle. Not the battle where you gotta sub in the person but the kind of battle where everyone is on the field and fighting 3 vs 3 or free for all..Make this a real naruto game not a wanna be fighting game...That what we want..We want a naruto game that is the truth and beyond every fighting game out there..One more thing, bring in a arcade mode where you select a character and go through stages fighting enemies and at certain spot you gain help..I will really love to see a true naruto game..

    One more thing

    Bring all the character from naruto to naruto shippuden ending with the great war..All character need to be playable...We dont want some character to be support and half playable..We want all the character to be playable..This is what the naruto fans want..Come on..Yall can do this..

    that would be asking to much but I agree I like all charecters to be playable but sum charecter just don't have alot of jutsu for specials and that take alot of thinking for animation plus styles themselfves also take alot work who if it will happen it could be in this game the next or maybe never all we can do is cross our fingers and pray for the best

    I HOPE THEY BROUGHT BACK CLASHES T.T MAN THAT WAS SOO COOL DOING CLASHES AND ANY CHARACTER CAN DO THAT ALSO I HOPE THEY HAVE WHAT THEY HAD IN THE LAST GAME WHERE WE CAN PLAY OR REPLAY A CERTAIN ERA IN NARUTO LIKE THE BEGINING TO SAVING saskua ALSO IT WOULD BE COOL TO SEE THEM IN THE MAIN STORY LINE. AND ADD ONS WOULD BE COOL AND DO WHAT THEY DID IN THE 3RD GAME
