So now that Generations is out what do you guys who own a copy of it think of the game?

Hey dude

Well to be honest, i love the game for one reason, the fighting. I was really disappointed with a few things like

1: story mode

The story mode is ok, i like the extra anime parts they added, however i would have LOVED if it would have been anything like the first game, or even the 2nd, where you could walk around, do missions and just play through the story.

2: Characters

There is a nice selection of characters, however i dont like the fact that they put young naruto, elder naruto, sage naruto as 3 different characters... they could have piled them up in one character, and as you are choosing characters you could use the R2 (xbox) to choose one of the many narutos, just like you can do now with Haku.

As i read the reviews prior to the release i was rally excited to hear that there would be 60+ characters only to find out that 3 of those would be Naruto, 2 neji, 2 sakura, 2 gaara, 2 kankuro etc etc..

They could have added the "special"support characters as playable chars as well :/

3: the new substitution system

I dont mind this that much tbh, but what i do mind is the fact that once you use up all your logs you are basically an easy target for your opponent, as you have no way to defend yourself. they just walk up to you and beat you until they run out of chakra or combos :/

There should be some way to get out of the combos even when you dont have the substitution jutsu.

A lot of people seem to be p1ssed at this


Other then this its a nice game, i love the new animations of the ultras. the few new chars that they added are fun to play with and the graphics have improved

1.the story was nice but it was annoying to go through all the seperate stories plus i missed the boss battles from NSUNS2
2. i was glad they added other options to free battle
3. i dislike how you can't you certain support options for charaters right off the bat
4. i like the sub-bar but i don't like how long it takes to refill
so all in all 8/10

I love this game just a few problems though. 1 no walking around in story, 2 some characters are just support, 3 substitution bar, 4 not many awakening modes that actually do something or look different other than that and a few others it is a wonderful game!!!

It's funny since I absolutely hated the walking about the village part in Storm 2. To me that just added more loading time and bs stuff between the fights that I wanted to get at.

4 Substitution ? ridiculous, the story mode, i wasted 10 minutes pressing A to change the pictures on the ZABUZA tale, come on, nonsense. The Madara tales which is NOT MADARA BTW, had all the akatsukis fight.... oh but NO MADARA FIGHT ON IT, the cpu was spamming me on survival (Hello Temari and Ten-Ten) , and you can't block from the back when you getting ultimate jutsu'ed. anyway, it dosen't worth the 70$ that i PRE-ORDERED for, and if it keeps going like this, I won't buy another Naruto game. I give it a 5.5/10. Naruto Storm 2 was better imo.

The story mode is not anything special, but since I really couldn't care less it didn't bother me at all. The fighting system in here is way better than in Storm 2, since you cannot just Sub everything that comes in your way. You gotta think and be careful of what you do, and that is what I like in this game.

I am yet to find anything that'd ruin this game, if you don't count the asshats online. That is up to the player, mostly.

To me this game is pure win, for content and gameplay. I didn't lose interest after getting the Platinum trophy, so... There're some minor inconveniences that bug me a little, but overall it's straight 9/10 from me. Not perfect, but going in the right direction with the series.

@Midori I hated that too. Running and collecting beans dropped by birds. By the way, what's up with the beans dropped by birds? I don't even...

@Kid_D You can skip the cutscenes; as far as anime crowd knows, he is Madara; you can't block Ultimates to the back, you gotta sub them (if you can't you've failed to save up your subs); If you don't like it, don't buy another Naruto game. I think that's all. One thing I agree on is that the Com sometimes tends to spam, but it's not that big of a big deal for me.

I think the game was alright but I also thought it could have been better.
You know the gameplay is good weither its online or off and graphic is also a plus
but as far as story mode its would have been a lot better if it stuck to its syle instead
Of just the anime and then the fight. It should have keep the boss battle and its crazy
cut-Scene action which made The game what it is today and its open world adventure.
Sure the anime is a good touch up but all those insane cut scene and action that was in
Storm 1 and 2 is what made the game......but idk that's what I think

I'm starting to see a huge problem with the sub mechanics now that I've played a lot of online matches. At many situations, the Sub move is just useless. It doesn't dodge anything when you use it, since at many instances you Sub straight back onto the attack. That just doesn't make any sense...

Hidan, Kimimaro, Orochimaru, Anko, Tsuchikage, Masked Man, Susano'o Sasuke, Killer Bee, Deidara... Just to name a few characters that have Jutsus like this: Dodge the first hit and then get hit with the rest unless you use 2 or more Substitutions.

Susano'o Sasuke and Masked Man are the most broken characters in the whole series if you ask me. Sasukes Amaterasu is just a pain, at worst you'll have to use 3 subs just to not get hit by it and fly across the screen. And on top of that, he has a Susano'o even more overpowered than Itachi's. It is true that the huge awakenings are easier to deal with now, but still that doesn't excuse the broken character that is Susano'o Sasuke. As for Masked Man, well, anyone who plays Ranked Matches knows what it means to have a Masked Man against you.

This isn't meant to be a rant, but darn this pisses me off so much. I mean isn't the point of a Substitution Jutsu to get away from the attack rather than jump up and land back into the same attack? Why wouldn't it dodge it like a few feet away from the attacker? I just don't even... Ugh.

Well, if you want to have good and fun matches, it's even harder to find those in this game than it was in Storm 2. Everyone's just turned into big asshats, and that is the problem with every single fighting game ever. There are always some cheap tricks that you can use, but if you choose not to, well, cookie for you

the developers need to cut it out with this nonsense an just make the gameplay like narutimate accel 2......the best naruto game ever...
