who would win in a fight orochimaru or itachi

As for those of you who said that Orochimaru could not look into Itachi's eyes, or he would lose, I strongly disagree. The Tsukoyomi inflicts almost unending pain on the recipient. Some of you said that Orochimaru would lose because of that. You*must not have seen his arms being sealed. It looks like that was the most painful thing in the entire show. He walked around for months with sealed arms (he even fought while his arms were sealed), so it is obvious that Orochimaru would not succumb to pain.

popoff if you remember what kisame says to itachi when they run from orochimaru is "why'd we retreat....with your power" and itachi explains that there was no need to be impatient and that he needed to rest his body for the foreseeable future since he used the tsukyomi twice as well as the ameterasu....both of which combined with the sharingan eat up chakra....plus he also knew a battle like that would not go unnoticed by many in the area and they would probably like to remain as mysterious as possible....and if ya read shippuuden and have seen the latest you might possibly have other ideas why he wouldnt want to fight a konoha shinobi of that stature....so running from jiraiya was just the smarter idea in his eyes...why waste time...they have plenty of time....but itachi vs. jiraiya....who knows how that battle would work....i mean itachi did break a jutsu that jiraiya said had never been broken before...we shall never know

Itachi wouldn't be able to faze Jiraiya. Itachi is pretty weak, he just surprises the enemy. He is nowhere near the level of a Sanin, but since Orochimaru's body was dying, Itachi easily beat him. However, Itachi would never be able to do anything to Jiraiya.

thus we shall again never know what would happen between either of those....jiraiya might possibly have won but orochimaru couldn't....remember itachi is as well suffering side effects from his own jutsu so it was equal again....in the end itachi was and is considered one of the strongest ninja from the leaf village....jiraiya and itachi would be based solely on opinion but orochimaru and itachi has already had a clear victor on a few occasion

Thank you for your opinion. It seems that everybody loves Itachi so much that they think that he could beat anyone, but it is, of course, not true. Imagine one of the Sannin with a kekkei genkai like the Sharingan. Itachi wouldn't stand a chance.

and it seems you still put too much stock on the word sannin....jiraiya like i said is opinion and if ya cant take the facts popoff then dont but orochimaru was and has been defeated by itachi on at least two occasions....and to think of a sannin with a kekkai genkai is dumb because then they wouldnt be who they are and would not have been trained by sarutobi mostly....they would be trained by someone with similar capabilities to the kekkai genkai they have or a family memeber...such as kakashi training sasuke or shikimaru trained by his father shikaku...itachi isnt undefeatable obviously but orochimaru was definitely shown at least twiced defeated by itachi and he would definitely give jiraiya a run for his money easily....again a conflict that will never be shown so it can only be left up to opinions....but orochimaru is weaker than itachi end of story
